Mrs. Rebecca Gail Ethington Rebecca Gail Ethington was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She left this world on March 18, 2021 at the age of 75 surrounded by loved ones and is now with God.
She was born to Lonnie Curtis and Beulah McKenzie on October 24, 1945 in Scotts Hill, TN. She attended school in Scotts Hill and was active in basketball. After graduating from high school, she attended business college in Memphis TN, where she met her future husband Riley Ethington. Together they had two sons. The joys of her life were church, gardening, crafts and her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years Riley Ethington, two sons; Craig Ethington (Lisa), Brian Ethington (Beth), five grandchildren; Camryn Ethington, Bryson Ethington, Tyler Ethington, Emily Ethington and Seth Ethington. She is also survived by three siblings: Fate McKenzie, Floyd McKenzie (Irene) and Leona Mashburn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers Thomas McKenzie and Curtis McKenzie Jr, sister Dolly Bice, and two infant siblings.
Gail was a member of First Baptist North Spartanburg and was a born again Christian. She was active in her church and community and volunteered her time to local charities, spending years delivering meals to those in need.
A graveside funeral service is scheduled at Peace Chapel Cemetery in Scotts Hill, TN at 2pm on March 28, 2021. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Meals on Wheels.
