Gallery PhotoErwin Hugo Simon, 88, passed away peacefully at his home March 18, 2021. He is survived by his loving wife, Rhonda, daughters, Judy Justin (Dan), Sondra Adams (Alan), four grandchildren, one great grandson and stepchildren, Kent Lyman, Kathy Schaaf (Mark), Ruthie Lyman and five grandchildren.

He was born in Texas and has resided in Alabama since 1962. He graduated from the University of Texas, Southern Methodist University and 1 year of study at the Von Karman Institute in Brussels, Belgium. He served in the Navy as an air traffic controller.

He was employed by Boeing Airplane Co in Seattle, WA and Vought Aircraft in Dallas, TX. He relocated to Huntsville for NASA from 1963-1988. He started Pride Home Entertainment in 1988 and Southern Solar Systems in 2007.

He enjoyed collector cars and restoration, was a pilot and built aircraft, taught scuba diving, enjoyed sailing and motorcycle riding. He was a designer, builder, entrepreneur and skilled engineer. He was an exceptional individual who will be sorely missed by his loving family and many friends.
