Donald Sherrill McNeil, 72, died Thursday, March 18, 2021 at the Red Bay Hospital. He was a banker for twenty-five years, a member of Gideons International and served in the U.S. Army Reserve. He was a member of Pilot Hill Baptist Church, Vina, AL.

Services will be Sunday, March 21, 3 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, AL with Bro. Larry Hill and Bro. Jeff Lentz officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Red Bay, AL.  Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by his wife of forty-seven years – Wanda McNeil; two children – Shane McNeil (Jamie) and Mandy Colley; five grandchildren – Cara McNeil, Abbey Colley, Connor McNeil, Bryant Colley and Colin McNeil; one sister – Carolyn Garner (Jim); one sister-in-law – Debbie Wiggins and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Laney and Beatrice Ridge McNeil, a brother, Randy McNeil and three sisters, Rubene Taylor, Sandra Jeska and Gaile McNeil.

Pallbearers will be Connor McNeil, Colin McNeil, Bryant Colley, Greg Garner, Wesley Garner, Andy Wiggins, Dale McNeil, Ricky Taylor and Gary Taylor. Honorary pallbearers will be Glen Vinson, Lowell Humphres, Norris Rogers and Jim Davis.

Visitation will be Sunday, March 21, 1-3 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL.
