Mary Louise Faulkner  Mary Louise Faulkner “Nana” went to be with the Lord Tuesday, March 9th. She fully lived every day of her 81 years on this earth especially during the 63 years she was married to her adoring husband. She had two sons, eight grandkids, six great grandkids, and a beloved dog. But if Nana wanted you to know one thing about her, it would be that she loved Jesus.

She had more friends than most people have acquaintances and she worried about and prayed for every single one of them. She loved her church family and sang hymns in the most beautiful voice every Sunday morning. She opened her Bible more than most people open their phones and was always good for a deep conversation about God with her grandkids, provided Days of Our Lives wasn’t on. She was a constant reminder that Jesus is the Way the Truth and the Life, and she was an incredible example to everyone that knew her.

Louise married her husband Wayne when she was 18 years old and she never wanted for a thing since. You couldn’t find two people more made for each other. Wayne supported and provided for her (and bought her more jewelry than any woman would ever need) and she kept his hair cut and his belly full. They traveled, they laughed, and they truly loved each other. They raised two sons to know Jesus and the value of a close family. She was a compassionate mother and faithful wife and wanted nothing more than for her family to be happy.

She may have only been called “mama” by her two sons but make no mistake, she helped raise all eight of her grandkids. Most people aren’t fans of Mondays but for Nana, they were her favorite. She’d cook enough food for an army and all of her grandkids would spend the night. Everyone knew you were welcome anytime – their door was always open and if it wasn’t you probably had a key.

She had a servant’s heart (if you’re reading this, she’s probably made you a pie at some point) and she served her God, family, and community well her whole life.
