Lloyd HowellLloyd V. Howell, age 93, of Adrian, Michigan passed peacefully with his family by his side into the arms of his Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 6, 2021.

Lloyd was born September 15, 1927 in Hamilton, Alabama, to William and Bessie Howell. On June 16, 1956, Lloyd married the love of his life, Loutrille Roberts, in Adrian, Michigan. They have been blessed with 64 years of love and happiness. Lloyd was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd where he served in many capacities. He served as a Sunday School Superintendent, Usher, and Deacon for many years. He loved God with all his heart and soul, and this was evident to all who knew and met Lloyd. Lloyd always had a smile on his face and could make a bad day seem better with a kind word or little gesture. Lloyd retired from Stubnitz & Greene where he worked for 36 years and established many friendships. Lloyd also painted houses for many people in the community alongside his brother-in-law, Jim Vessel. Lloyd had a passion for gardening vegetables, and he loved to plant flowers which bloomed everywhere at their home, especially roses. Lloyd loved to play the guitar and watch Roy Rogers movies. He had a love of history and tried to learn as much as he could about our great country and the many landmarks. Lloyd always had a camera in his hands, and everyone was accustomed to his picture taking for every event. He was a passionate Alabama Crimson Tide football fan. For many years, he loved to travel to Panama City Beach, Florida with Loutrille and their children and grandchildren. Perhaps his greatest joy was his grandchildren and greatgrandchildren and his little 14-year-old Yorkie dog, Gidget, who passed earlier this year.

In addition to his wife, Loutrille, he is survived by their children, Kathy (Audley) Craig, of Britton, Mich., and Roger Howell, of Adrian, Mich., sisters, Chloe Vessel of Tupelo, MS, Faye Harris of Tupelo, MS, and a brother, Alton (Wetonia) Howell of Hamilton, Alabama; six grandchildren, Amanda (Chris) Stutzman, Austin (Elizabeth) Craig, Holly Craig, Heather Howell, Andrew (Chelsea) Howell, and Landon (Alicia) Howell; and nine greatgrandchildren, Kellan, Kye, Keden, Kalla, Bronson, Micah, Brooks, James and Jack. He is preceded in death by a son, Stephan Howell, and brother-in-law, James Vessel.

Visitation will take place from 2 to 6 p.m., Tuesday, March 9, 2021, at Wagley Funeral Home in Adrian. On Saturday, March 13, 2021 a visitation will be held from noon to 1 p.m., at Marion County Funeral Home in Hamilton, Alabama.  Funeral services there will begin at 1 p.m., with Rev. Elvis Cochran officiating.  Burial will follow at Antioch Cemetery.

Contributions in memory of Lloyd are suggested to Hospice of Lenawee.
