David E. “Dave” Brooks, 88 of New Market, AL went home to be with the Lord on the 5th of March, 2021. He was born June 10, 1932 in Flintville, TN to the late Henry F. and Susie Rudd Brooks. He is preceded in death by brothers Paul, Gordon and Frank. He is survived by Dorothy F. “Dot” Brooks his wife of 67 years, two daughters Sherry B. Majors (Lynn) of Hazel Green, AL and Jan B. Gentry (Randell) of Madison, AL; three grandchildren Ben Majors (Maggie) of Huntsville, AL, Adam Gentry (Amanda) of Helena, AL and Audra Gentry of Toney, AL; four great grandchildren Emily Gentry, Cap Majors, Ella Gentry and Mary Brooks Majors. He is also survived by one brother Jim Brooks of Albertville, AL and one sister Clydia “Sis” Kimbrough of Fayetteville, TN.

Dave retired from Chrysler Corporation in 1988 after 33 years as a procurement agent. He continued his professional career with assignments at Martin Marietta, Teledyne Brown Engineering, Summa Technology, and Tin-Mar Inc. Dave volunteered and proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Athens College in 1967. He was a faithful member of Flint River Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, awarded Deacon Emeritus, and was named as an Honorary Trustee.

Visitation will be at Valhalla Funeral Home, 698 Winchester Rd, Huntsville AL on Monday, March 8, 2021 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 noon with funeral services immediately following. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.valhallafunerals.com for the Brooks family.
