William Ellis "Jack" OaksA Service of Remembrance with military honors for William Ellis “Jack” Oaks, 94 of Cumming, GA, will be held Sunday, March 7, 2021 at 2:00 P M at Magnolia Funeral Home – East Chapel with interment to follow at Farmington Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Debra Oaks will officiate the service. Visitation will be Sunday, March 7, 2021 from 12:00 noon until service time at Magnolia Funeral Home – East. Mr. Oaks passed away peacefully Sunday, February 28, 2021 at The Oaks at Post Road in Cumming, GA. He was born November 28, 1926 in Farmington, MS to Frank P. Oaks and Jennie Lee Doll Oaks. He worked as an insurance salesman for Life & Casualty and National Life and served his country in the United States Navy. Jack is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Debra Jean Oaks of Hermitage, TN; his son, William Greg Oaks and wife Becky of Nashville, TN; three grandchildren, Benjamin Greeson and wife Jodi of Mt. Juliet, TN, Andrew Greeson and wife Jennifer of Canton, GA and Etta Lee Goodwin and husband Chris of Mt. Juliet, TN; eight great grandchildren, Zachary, Cora and Kyleigh Greeson, Quinn, Callan and Georgia Greeson and Lynlee and Lawson Goodwin; his brothers, Roy Oaks and wife Pat, Mark Oaks and Bobby Oaks all of Corinth, MS and other relatives and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Nell Sims Oaks; his parents, Frank P. and Jennie Lee Doll Oaks; his brothers, Pete Oaks, Joe Oaks, Jim Oaks, Dock Oaks and Lonnie Oaks and his sisters, Mary Alice Oaks and June “Betty” Vanderford. Magnolia Funeral Home has been honored to serve the family of Mr. William Ellis “Jack” Oaks.
