On the evening of Friday – February 26, 2021; Ms. Gloria Mae Steadham Bailey Greene of Somerville, Alabama; transitioned and entered the Gates of Heaven at the age of 94 years.
Ms. Greene was born on the 30th of May in 1926 to the late Dewey Hobson Steadham and Ola Mae Turner Steadham in Lawrence County, Alabama. In her earlier years, Mae worked as an Examiner for the Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama. She will be dearly missed by her beloved family, friends, and community.
Mae leaves behind to hold and cherish her memories; children, Bobby Bailey and Anna Simpson; 7 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Lynnoytte Speegle, Martha Ahlskog as well as a host of nieces, great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her beloved parents; Ms. Greene is at last reunited with her brothers; Henry Steadham and Dewitt Steadham; sisters, Dovie McKee, Zilphia Barber and Dorothy Monroe; nephew, Sonny Speegle; great niece, Andrea Monroe; great nephew, Karlos Paris; great great nephew, Caleb Paris; cousin; Geardean Roberts and ex husband, Robert Bailey.
A visitation will take place at the Brindlee Mountain Church of God on Wednesday – March 3, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. until service time.
Funeral service will take place at the Brindlee Mountain Church of God on Wednesday – March 3, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Ray Hanvey, officiating services.
Interment will follow service immediately at the New Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery in the Union Hill Community of Morgan City.
Pallbearers escorting Ms. Greene to her final resting place will be; Bud Brown, Tim Brown, Tyler Owen, Adrian McKee, Jimmy Tabor and Steven Bailey.
