Lewis Douglas “Doug” Hess, age 80, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2021, at his residence. He was a native of Athens, AL, retired insurance agent, and of the Baptist Faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, C.A. and Onice Owens Hess; and one sister, Mavulene Self.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Joyce Hess of Lawrenceburg, TN; one daughter, Kimberly Hennessee (Mike) of Olive Branch, MS; one son, Michael Hess (Sharon) of Knoxville, TN; four grandchildren, Ashley Cook (Nick) of Nesbit, MS, Abigail Hennessee of Memphis, TN, Logan Hess (Hannah) of Mt. Juliet, TN, and Connor Hess of Los Angeles, CA; and one great-grandchild, Henry Lewis Hess.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Saturday, February 27, 2021, at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Saturday, February 27, 2021, with Brad Lowery officiating. Interment will follow at Lawrence County Memorial Gardens in Lawrenceburg, TN.
