Florence Police Arrest Suspect In Several Auto Break-Ins

FLORENCE-On Thursday, February 25 the Florence Police Department issued a statement concerning the arrest of a suspect who has been charged with several counts of breaking and entering a vehicle along with other various charges:

 

“On February 25, 2021, at approximately 2:30AM, officers responded to 58 Old Orchard Rd, Orchard Mills Subdivision to a call of a breaking and entering a motor vehicle. 

Upon arrival officers came in contact with a male who had heard a loud noise outside and he then observed his vehicle had been broken into.  He was able to retrieve video from his Ring doorbell showing a subject breaking out the window of his vehicle.  Officers watched the video and located a male in the area fitting the description of the subject.  Several other vehicles in the area were then discovered to have also been broken into or entered illegally. 

After further investigation the subject, Jacoby Gilchrist, was arrested and charged with 3 counts of Unlawful Breaking and Entering a Vehicle, Theft of Property 3rd degree, Theft of Property 2nd degree, Possession of a Concealed Weapon, Possession of Marijuana 2nd degree, and possession of Drug Paraphernalia 1st degree.  Jacoby Gilchrist, DOB 12/26/200, is being held on a $23,500.00 bond.”
