Funeral service for Brenda Gail Turney, 53, will be Sunday, February 21, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Faith Independent Church with Rev. Johnathan Cole officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Turney Family Cemetery.  Visitation will be Sunday, February 21, 2021 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Faith Independent Church.

Miss Turney died on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at Cullman Regional Medical Center.  She was born July 9, 1967, in Morgan County to Howard Winford Turney and Martha Gail Maples Turney.  Brenda was a Christian and a member of the Faith Independent Church. She loved working with the kids on any level and was the Youth Leader for several years. She LOVED music. Her greatest love was playing the bass guitar. She was blessed to play with many groups over the years, including J.R. Quick & The Victory Aires, The Hosanna’s, The Joyful Hearts, and The Faith Trio. She was a Nurse and loved taking care of her patients. She had to retire from nursing work due to her health issues.

Brenda loved ALL of her nieces and nephews just like they were her own children and she SPOILED each one of them. She was preceded in death by her parents: Howard and Martha, her brother: Winford Turney and his wife, Sandra, her nephew: Jason Freeman, a brother-in-law: James Earl Mills, Jr. and a sister-in-law: Rose Freeman Turney.

Survivors include:

Sister – Cathy Mills

Brother – Gary Turney (Dee)

Nieces – Kymberly Sheppard, Kristan Conn, Kymarie Sheppard, Haven Conn, Rayna Conn and Sarah Freeman

Nephews – Taven Conn, Kannon Sheppard, Kassius Sheppard and Justis Freeman

Pallbearers will be Malcolm Sheppard, Jesse Conn, Justis Freeman, James Terry, and other Family & Friends .
