Michele Anne Zimmer Michele Anne Cardillo Zimmer, 71, originally of St Louis, Mo. has passed into the arms of her Lord Jesus Christ. Fortified with the sacraments of the church, she left this mortal world on February 15, 2021. Her husband of 32 years, Paul Zimmer and son, Kenneth Peters were at her bedside at Crestwood hospital when she passed peacefully and gained her wings.

She was predeceased by her parents Joe Sr and Kathryn Turin Cardillo, and two brothers, Thomas and Rosario.

She grew up on the “hill” in St Louis in an Italian neighborhood. Her father was from Sicily and a WWII US navy veteran and her mother was of Northern Italian heritage. Michele was a talented singer and entertainer for many years, beginning her career at age 14. She traveled extensively throughout the U.S., bringing joy to all those she came in contact with. Her career included performances at the Playboy club where she met many of the “greats” including Ray Charles, James Brown, and Santana. Her entertainment career afforded her the opportunity to purchase a home for her parents.

She was the light in everyone’s life and had a passionate relationship with Jesus. Her charismatic personality shined like a beacon to others she met, even brightening peoples’ lives during her visits at the doctor’s office, making them laugh. Michele did extensive volunteer work for her son’s elementary and middle schools, helping to raise over $20,000 during a fund drive and as a nurses aide. With her great love came great joy for all people she met and many became friends for life.

Visitation will be from 11:00 to 12:00 p.m. Monday, February 22, 2021, at Laughlin Service Funeral Home, Inc., 2320 Bob Wallace Ave SW, Huntsville, AL. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. with Father Johnathan Howell from Holy Spirit Catholic Church officiating.

In lieu of cut flowers, the family request live plants or flowers to help her memory live on.
