J.R. Griffith, III, 84, of Huntsville, passed away Monday, February 15, 2021. Mr. Griffith worked for NASA and retired after 50 years as an Electrical Engineer. He graduated from the University of Tennessee and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where he served as an usher. In 1960, he married his sweetheart in Memphis, TN. He was a loving father and Papa and supported them all.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Betty Griffith; children, Jay Griffith and Julie Griffith Partain; grandchildren, Taylor Griffith Florentino (Luis), Morgan Marzano, and Hunter Marzano (fiancé, Sophie); great-grandchildren, Jaxon Marzano and Karson Marzano; and brother, Wayne Griffith. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Myrtle Griffith; and siblings, Nathan Griffith and Romona Droesch.
Visitation will be from 11:30 to 1:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 22, at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Huntsville Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Alzheimer’s Association.
