Mildred M. Williams  Mildred May McKennon Williams, age 80, of Columbia, died Wednesday, February 10, 2021, at home surrounded by her loving family.

Mildred was born on October 16, 1940, in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee to the late Otey Gray McKennon and the late Rosie May Church McKennon. Her family was her greatest joy and accomplishment. She was a devoted mother first and foremost, a loving grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She loved taking care of people in their time of need and started her 36-year career at Bel-Air Nursing Homeworking her way up to become an LPN before eventually retiring from Heritage Manor. Ms. Williams cared deeply about her faith and was a life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She loved and cherished her church family and many friends.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 12, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia. The funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, February 13, 2021, at 1:00 PM, with a visitation one hour prior at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Bishop Ronnie Odom presiding, Gordon Travis, and Lester Finley officiating. A private family burial will follow in Talley Cemetery in Petersburg, TN.

She is survived by her son, Anthony “Tony” (Emily) McKennon; grandchildren: Brandon Ray, Justin (Teresa) McKennon, Samantha Campbell, and Sierra Campbell; great-grandchildren: Lexi McKennon, Dalton Wyatt, Jodee Ray, Jayden McKennon, Karson Ray and Amelia Ray; great-great-grandchild: Addaleigh McKennon; brother: Collin (Judy) McKennon; special nephew and niece: Danny and Ashley Dunn; constant companion and fur baby, Piper; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Williams; siblings, Florence Evelyn McKennon Runions Cook, Dollie Lucille McKennon Lanius, Dudley Gray McKennon, Richard Ernest McKennon, Robert Odell McKennon, John Samuel “JS” McKennon, and Barbara Elizabeth McKennon Brooks.

The family would like to offer their sincere thanks and gratitude to the amazing staff of Compassus Hospice for the incredible support, help, and care given to our family. We would also like to offer our heartfelt thanks to Ashley Dunn, we could not have made this journey without her love, kindness, help, and support.

Pallbearers are Steven Beard, Terry Boatright, Brad Burns, Danny Dunn, Thad Runions, and Colin Sloan.

Honorary pallbearers are William “Bill” Lanius, Bobby Wayne Lanius, Lonnie Lanius, Michael McKennon, and Mayburn Runions, Jr.
