Mary Elizabeth Campbell passed away peacefully on February 9, 2021 at North Alabama Medical Center. She was born October 24, 1928 in Lauderdale County, AL to the late John Wess Stutts, Sr. and Emma Jo Stutts. She attended and graduated from Lexington High School, Florence State Teachers college, and George Peabody College. She began her 40 year teaching career at Rogers School. She taught school in Florida, where she met and married Theodore McKerney Campbell, Jr. She also taught in Georgia, Missouri, Texas, South Carolina, and retired in Columbus, Georgia. Mary Beth was a member of the Church of Christ and attended Rose Hill Church of Christ in Columbus, Georgia until she relocated to Florence. She was preceded in death by her husband; daughter Jodi O. Campbell; her parents; 4 brothers, John Stutts, Jr., Clifford Stutts, Deuel Wess Stutts, Joseph W. Stutts; and two sisters, Louise Stutts Higgins and Olive Sue Morris. She is survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Visitation will be Saturday, February 13, 2021 at 12:00 P.M. at Greenhill Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 1:00 P.M. at North Carolina Church of Christ Cemetery with Bro. Drew Edwards officiating. Family members will serve as pallbearers. The family would like to send special thanks and appreciation to the staff at Keystone Assisted Living for their love and care of Mary Beth. They would also like to especially thank the nurses and staff on the 5th Floor on NAMC. Greenhill Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
