William Alexander Ayers, 89 of Decatur, passed away on Tuesday, February 9th, 2021 at his residence. Mr. Ayers was born on June 7th, 1931 to Herbert Ayers & Lillian Anderson Ayers.
Mr. Ayers is survived by his wife, Lennie Ayers; brothers-in-law Garland Rivers & Tommy Ashford; nieces Kayla Ashford, Kim Rivers, Tracie Flowers, & Amanda Rivers; and nephews David Rivers, Mike Rivers, Jodie Rivers, & Kevin Rivers.
Preceded in death by his parents; sister-in-law Phyllis Ashford; brothers-in-law Julian Almond Rivers & Clark Lamon Rivers; brother Pettus Ayers; and sister Orlane Carroll.
Mr. Ayers loved crafts, and was known for his Santa Claus’s. He loved music, and enjoy hiking in the Smokie Mountains.
