James D. Dyer, 82, died Tuesday, February 9, 2021, at his residence in Nauvoo, Alabama. He was born April 16, 1938, in Jasper, Al, to Lester and Pearl Robertson Dyer. He was a Veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army. He was retired from Tupelo Transfer, where he was a truck driver.

In honor of Mr. Dyer’s request, there will be no public services. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery. McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Fulton is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include one daughter, Toni Deaton; a special nephew and caregiver, Robert Dyer; one brother, Wendall “Doug” Dyer; several grandchildren and great grandchildren, and a host of nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Melba Jean Dyer, who died July 29, 2010; one daughter, Vicki Johnson; six brothers, Ralph Dyer, Robert Lee Dyer, A.C. “Bo” Dyer, Wayne Dyer, Joseph “ Joe” Dyer, and Bill Dyer.
