Peggy Ann Wilson Smith, age 74, of Hamilton, Alabama, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, February 7, 2021.

Peggy was born on October 18, 1946 in Vidor, Texas to Junious Dean Wilson and Helen Margret Hurley Wilson. She had two sisters, Betty Sue Hooker and Joan Elizabeth Worthy. She attended Bridge City School in Bridge City, Texas. She met her husband Tommy in 1960 at a skating rink while living with her father in Marietta, Georgia. They married later that year on September 8 in Timpson, Texas. They had four children: Tammy, Angela, David, and Joey. Peggy and Tommy were married for 30 years when they separated in 1990. For 19 years, their son, Joey, prayed for his parents to reunite. And in 2009, they reunited and remarried in Hackleburg, Alabama. They moved to Hamilton where they were married for 12 more years until her passing.

Peggy loved her family, she was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She had many names for her grandchildren, grandma, ganmaw, and grandma darlin. She had 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren, and she was crazy about every single one of them. She loved her shows, especially Golden Girls and Judge Judy, she loved going on cruises with her sister, Joan and niece, Kathy. She was a fantastic cook, if you asked her family, they would say one of their favorite things she made was her homemade gumbo and a pan of biscuits with two baby biscuits in the middle.  But most of all, she loved her Lord, and she was so excited and ready to see Him.
