Mr. Guy Derryberry   Guy Faye Derryberry, age 96, passed away Thursday morning, January 21, 2021. He was born September 15, 1924 to the late William Andrew and Lovie Dennison Derryberry. He served in the United States Military and returned home to work at Lexington Pure Milk Company until he purchased the John Deere business in 1964. He was quite well known to farmers in all of West Tennessee, as well as surrounding states. He sold Lexington Implement Company in 1979. He and his nephew, Ricky, started a trucking and storage trailer company that hauled John Deere and Case International Equipment to West Tennessee Dealers and also rented portable storage for many Walmart stores in five states.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James Edward and William Earl Derryberry.
Survivors include his nephew Ricky Derryberry (Gwen), also Ricky’s daughters, Deanna Derryberry and her daughter Shelby, and Kristin Higgins (Dustin) and their two daughters, Taylor and Madison; and a sister-in-law, Carlene Derryberry, all of Lexington.
Graveside services are scheduled for 3 PM, Sunday, January 24, 2021 at Union Baptist Church Cemetery. Pafford Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation be made to Union Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
