Carter Dale Roberts Sr.Carter Dale Roberts, Sr., age 76, of Wetumpa, passed away January 15, 2021. He is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Ruby Elliott and his brother Mickey Roberts. Carter is survived by his wife of 50 years, Betsy Grover Roberts; sons, Carter Dale Roberts, Jr. (Melissa), Edward Grover Roberts (Benita), Philip Elliott Roberts (Sandy); brother, James A. Roberts (Carol); grandchildren, Ashleigh Sexton (Coby), Daniel Roberts, Zachary Roberts, Stanton Roberts, Emily Roberts, William Roberts, Henry Roberts, Oliver Roberts, Jared Pinson, Chase Pinson (Stephanie), and great-grandchild, Gianna Pinson. He attended Auburn University and obtained his Master’s Degree from Samford University. Carter was a loving husband and father. He was a recreational pilot and enjoyed flying his Piper Cub. Carter also enjoyed golfing and hunting. Carter began work as a Homicide Detective with the Bessemer Police Department. He then worked, and later became president of, INS Investigations Bureau, Inc. after which Carter became a passionate entrepreneur. He founded Unified Investigations and Sciences, Inc. and then in 2012 founded the International Fire Investigation Research Institute. Carter’s last employment was as General Manager of Firensics, Inc. Carter was also an athlete. He played football for both McAdory High School and Auburn University. A graveside service honoring the life of Carter will be held at McCormack Cemetery, Dora on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at 1pm. The Reverend Mark Waldo, Jr. will officiate. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations be made to The Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy Center at Boston University at bu.edu\cte\financial-support\.
