Jo Ann “Judy” Shelton Suggs, age 84, passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2021 after a lengthy illness.
Judy worked for years as a beautician before retiring. She was a member of First Freewill Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother that loved her family deeply. She will be missed by all who knew her and leaves her family many wonderful memories.
There will be no service at this time. The burial will be at Knights of Pythias Cemetery.
Judy was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Norma Jean Suggs; parents, Boyd & Ethel Shelton; brother, Boyd “Buddy” Shelton; sister, Rose Graham; brother-in-law, Tommy Graham; and son-in-law, Terry Smith.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 68 years, Billy James Suggs; daughter, Debra “Deb” Smith; grandchildren, Jada Lindsey (Keith), Nesha Smith, Kortnee Loveless; great-grandchildren, Peyton Loveless, Maddie Loveless, Ryder Loveless; sister-in-law, Betty Shelton; several nieces & nephews; and faithful, loving companion, Bella.
The family would like to extend a sincere thanks to Dr. Jeffrey Manord, the staff of Russellville Hospital; and the nurses and staff of Hospice of North Alabama for the love and care of our family during this time.
