Mary Louise Lockhart Niblett

Mary Louise Lockhart Niblett, age 86, of Corner, Alabama passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Cordova Health and Rehab with her son at her side.

Mary was born on October 12, 1934 to Herbert and Essie Mae Lockhart. She was raised in Empire (Phillipstown) and as a youth attended Owens Chapel Church of God. She met J. C. Niblett and went on to have four children, the first born passed away at birth. She was an active member of Bagley Church of God where she loved teaching the teen classes and working with the willing workers (ladies ministries). She was a caregiver for her mother in love, Nettie B. Niblett until she passed in 1984.She was employed several other place, and one of her favorites was at Blackburns Draperies in Birmingham. But, her most favorite job was mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. Only a few people in this world can be recognized by only one name – Granny! Later in life, she was robbed of her memories by Dementia and Alzheimers, all but one, she never forgot to pray! She would pray for you, about anything, anywhere.

Mary is survived by her brothers, James Henry (Louise) Lockhart of Boldo and Jerry Wayne (Stella) Lockhart of Indiana; son, Danny (Donna) Niblett; and she was blessed with several grand, great-grand, and great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Herbert Roosvelt Lockhart; mother, Essie Mae Campbell Lockhart; brothers, Charles Edward Lockhart and T. J. Lockhart; sisters, Margaret Marie Gann and Billie Ruth Holley; husband, J. C. Niblett; son, J. R. Niblett; and daughter, Judy Niblett McDonald.

Because of Covid, the family has decided to have a memorial service at a later date. However, there will be a graveside for Mary on Monday, January 18, 2021 at 11:00 am at Little Vine Cemetery on Empire Road in Empire, Alabama. Brother Tyler Keene will officiate.
