James Robert "J. R." Duncan James Robert “J. R.” Duncan, age 82 of Winchester passed away Monday, January 11, 2021 at Southern TN Regional Health System. He was born on April 25, 1938 in Franklin County to the late James Harvey Duncan and Edith Ruth Stubblefield Duncan. He graduated from Franklin County High School in 1956 and from Lipscomb University in 1960. He was a lifelong member of Capitol Hill Church of Christ. James was a National Guard veteran and did a variety of jobs including part-time farming before he retired from AEDC as a computer operator after 28 years. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Doris Duncan of Winchester; daughter, Karen (Steve) Myers of Murfreesboro; and stepson, Fred (Diane) Burks of Nashville. Visitation will be 12-2 pm Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2 pm in Moore-Cortner Chapel with Bro. Ray Wilson officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Garner Cemetery. David Alexander, David Wimley, Dusty Matlock, Ernie Tabor, Tyler DeBord and Steve Myers will be serving as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Capitol Hill Church of Christ, Franklin County Library or the charity of your choice.
