Joseph “Joe” Zbuchalski

  Joseph “Joe” Zbuchalski, 82, of Madison Alabama, went to heaven peacefully on January 9th, 2021.  Born on December 5th, 1938, Joe was the son of Joseph and Victoria Zbuchalski.  He grew up in Lyndhurst, New Jersey, and received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Fairleigh Dickinson University.

Joe led a distinguished career as a leader and engineer in the United States aeronautical industry for 30 plus years.  His work on guidance systems impacted major space expedition programs including NASA’s Saturn and Apollo missions, Sky Lab, and the Hubble Space Telescope.  Joe received a Silver Snoopy Award in 1989, presented to him by NASA astronauts, recognizing his outstanding performance contributing to flight safety and mission success for his pioneering work on the Hubble Space Telescope.

Joe was a loving husband to his wife of 53 years, Camille, who passed away seven years ago.  He was a a guiding father to his four children, Karen (husband Dave), Michael (wife Janelle), Gary and Joe (wife Rebecca).  In addition to his loving children, Joe leaves behind his grandchildren David (wife Tara), Amanda (husband Nick), Hannah, Nicole, and Maya, as well as his two great-grandsons, Danny and Bryson.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 14th from 12 noon to 1:30 pm at the Berryhill Funeral Home, 2305 Memorial Parkway North, Huntsville, AL, 35810.

Graveside service will take place at Maple Hill Cemetery, Huntsville, AL, at 2 pm following the visitation.

Flowers may be sent directly to the Berryhill Funeral Home.
