James L. "Jim" McEuen James Louis McEuen (Jim), 83, of Huntsville, passed away peacefully on Saturday evening at 7:40 p.m. after suffering a stroke earlier in the week. Since February 2017, Jim fought pancreatic cancer which metastasized to lung and bone cancer.

He was born to Louis Clay McEuen and Mary Emma Reagin McEuen in West Tennessee. Jim married the love of his life, Beverly Stewart McEuen, in 1961. After graduating from The University of Alabama, Jim worked for NASA at Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) where he earned various awards for his efforts on multiple space programs.

Jim was an avid golfer, winning MSFC’s Golf Championship 10 times between 1981 and 1997. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends at their cabin on Smith Lake, watching Alabama football, and traveling the world. Jim never heard a joke he didn’t like (and repeated at least 10 times), or a stranger that shouldn’t be talked to. Jim was also into recycling before it became a world-wide movement. To Bev’s chagrin on occasion, Jim thought no piece of non-working equipment, or random hardware was beyond possible use in the future and should be saved.

Jim is survived by his wife, Beverly, and sons Jim, and Jason (Stephanie) who loved him dearly.

Due to COVID-19, a private service with immediate family will be held to celebrate Jim’s life. The family would like to say a special thanks to MD Anderson in Houston, Clearview Cancer Institute in Huntsville, and Hospice Family Care in Huntsville for all their hard work. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a favorite charity.
