William Burchell William E. “Chip” Burchell III, 62, of Killen, AL, passed away January 7, 2021 at his home after a 14 year battle with Multiple Myeloma. He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of ASCAP and SESAC. Chip worked over the years at his own shop Chip’s Collision Repair, Foote Olds Cadillac, Nelda Stephenson Chevrolet, State Farm Claim Center, Ronnie Campbell’s Collision Center, Bevis Auto Parts, and hand painted signs, billboards, trucks, tags, and racecars many times accompanied by his dad Bill Burchell. Chip is remembered by his friends and family as a man with many hobbies which he always put his heart in to. They included gardening, remote control cars, playing the guitar, songwriting, painting, building decks, building koi ponds and anything family and friends needed. If he could think it up he could build it, make it, or paint it. There wasn’t much he liked more than sitting around a campfire playing guitar and writing songs with all his friends. He always dreamed of writing a hit song and gave it everything he had until the last month before he passed away. Chip was always the guy that ran the soundboard at church, videoed the band competitions and football games, ran the lights for events, painted the backdrop for plays, and all those things that great dads do. He taught everyone around him to be on time and that every project deserved your best. He always built it bigger and better than you originally had planned. He always greeted people with a smile and gave you his famous YeeHaw! He was a very talented man who will be greatly missed.

Chip is survived by his wife Jacklyn Grossheim Burchell and his beloved dog Macho, his Son William “Chip” Burchell IV his wife Amelya and their children Bronson, Airison, and Wyatt, his Daughter Tabitha Franks her husband Nick and their children Emmaline and Annabelle, Daughter Heather Davis, brother Charles Burchell and wife Sharon, Sister Sherry Cox, Step-mother: Glenda Burchell and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, William “Bill” E. Burchell, Jr., mother Lady Ruth Liles Burbank, Step-father James Burbank and Sister Sue Hill.

Special thanks to all the nurses at Amedisys Hospice Care, staff and doctors at CCI, Karen, and Michelle.
