William Eugene "Gene" Pickett William Eugene “Gene” Pickett passed away at his home in Giles County on Friday, January 8, 2021. He was born in Minor Hill, Tennessee on November 29, 1933 and was 87 years old.

He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from Murray Ohio. Gene was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who loved spending time with his family. He loved working on cars and enjoyed his time hunting and fishing.

Visitation will be 11:00am to 1:00pm Tuesday, January 12, 2021, at Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home.
The funeral service will follow at 1:00pm in the chapel of Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Johnson officiating.
The burial will follow in Maplewood cemetery.

He was preceded in death by his parents Leslie and Bessie Hendrix Pickett. Brother J.D. “Buck” Pickett. His sisters, Auvalene Townsend, Annie Ruth Blasingim, Susie Elmore, and Yvonne Sherbert.

He is survived by his:
Wife of 67 years Doris Holley Pickett of Pulaski, Tennessee.
Daughter, Debbie (Stan) Reynolds of Andersonville, Tennessee.
Daughter, Darlene (Darrell) Abernathy of Pulaski, Tennessee.
Son, Greg (Cassie) Pickett of Pulaski, Tennessee.
Grandchildren, Joey (Danielle) Gulley of Panama City, Florida. Cody (Amber) Abernathy of Winterhaven, Florida. Kiefer, Keenan, Kyle, and Kristopher Reynolds of Andersonville, Tennessee. Grace Pickett of Pulaski, Tennessee.
Great-grandchildren, Tyler, Michelle, Matthew, Jazmyne, Lukas, Izyabelle, and Karter.
Several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends also survive.
