Mrs. Elaine Thomas Marion Mrs. Elaine Thomas Marion, age 72, of Guntersville, Alabama, began rejoicing in her heavenly reward on Wednesday, January 6, 2021.
Mrs. Marion was born on February 6, 1948 in Grove City, PA to the late Denver Arthur Thomas and Jean Yarbrough Thomas. She was the eldest of four children. She was a graduate of Jacksonville State University, where she earned her degree in secondary education. She was a high school home economics teacher prior to leaving her field to concentrate on raising her children. She attended First Baptist Church of Guntersville, where she loved nothing more than singing along to all hymns as well as fellowship. Some people will remember Elaine for her love of the outdoors, while many of us will treasure the unwavering love she showed to her family and friends. Her happiest moments were found spending time with her children. She loved all animals but had a very special place in her heart for her “grand-pups” Hector and Lola.
Elaine is survived by her children Tom & Rachel Marion of Arab, Julie Marion & Jarrod Bowden (son Hunter) of Guntersville, her siblings Ed & Lisa Thomas of Albertville, Deb & Bob Jolley of Asheville, NC and Dan & Patti Thomas of Arab, seven nieces and nephews, and a great-niece and great-nephew.
Funeral service will take place at the Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel on Saturday – January 9, 2021 starting at 11:00 a.m. with Lief Thornton, officiating.
Interment will follow service immediately at the Gilliam Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, Arab, AL.
Rather than flowers, Elaine’s family would prefer you do an unexpected and unsolicited random act of kindness for someone less fortunate in her memory.
Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, Directing.
