Grace “Granny” Pruitt

 Grace “Granny” Pruitt passed Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Sanctuary Hospice at the age of ninety-six. She was born in Kemper County, MS and had worked as a seamstress. She was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church for the past forty-six years.

Graveside services will be Friday, January 1, 2 p.m. at Hodge Cemetery, Golden, MS with Bro. Dean Warren officiating. Burial will be in Hodge Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.

She is survived by two daughters – Glenda Thomas, Golden, MS and Debbie Johnson (Jimmy) Fulton, MS; one grandson – Donnie Johnson (Angela) Fulton, MS; three granddaughters – Shiela Wooten (Roger) Belmont, MS; Vikki Stanphill (Chris) Tremont, MS and Konny Lindsey (Jerry) Golden, MS; great-grandsons – Ethan Johnson, Stacey Steele (Anna), Jeffery Holt (Leah), Thomas Stanphill (Lacy) and Isaac Wooten (Tori); great-granddaughters – Magan Bostick (Nathan), Adrianna Sartain (Brady), Bailee Blakney (Hunter) and Marina Grace Stanphill; great-great-grandchildren – Austin, Amberly, Sam, Keegan, Dixie, Ellie, Jasper, Mila, Laila, Sophie, Evan and Matthew and one sister – Gladys Stewart (Red) Meridian, MS.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Flois Pruitt, her parents, J.T. and Onie Vaughn.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Lindsey, Brady Sartain, Hunter Blakney, Chris Stanphill, Roger Wooten, Donnie Johnson and Ethan Johnson.
