Ethelene Williams Carter Ethelene Carter, 76, of Hamilton, Ala. passed away December 20, 2020 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Hamilton with her family by her side.

She was born to the late Carlos and Ruby Sullins Williams in Hamilton on August 1, 1944 and married Elvis Carter on July 3, 1959. She lived in Hamilton throughout most of her life where she held many jobs and served in many roles at various churches, all depending on where Elvis was preaching. She was also a full-time homemaker who kept everyone who came near her house fed.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 from 12-2 p.m. with service to follow at 2p.m all at Marion County Funeral Home. Burial will be at Cooper Cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her granddaughter, Ashley Carter, and her sister, Joyce Roberts.

She leaves the following to cherish her memory: husband of 61 years, Elvis Carter; children Greg (Kathy) Carter, Roger Carter, Melany (Clark) Weeks, Paul (Elizabeth) Carter, and Fonda (Andy) Skinner; grandchildren Clint (Sandra) Carter, Laken (Timothy) Shaw, Chase (Addison) Skinner, Brenton (Meg Bowen – girlfriend) Weeks, Austin Carter, and Logan Weeks.

She will forever be remembered as being the epitome of what a Preacher’s wife should be, as she served in this role for 51 years. Everyone who met her says she was the sweetest woman and a pure joy to be around. Her cooking will also be remembered as the best southern food one could eat. Her legacy will live on through her family and friends as she left memories to be shared for generations.
