William “Billy” Long

William “Billy” Long, 90, of Moulton passed away Monday, November 30, 2020 at his residence. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM till 2:30 PM on Thursday, December 3, 2020 at Lawrence Funeral Home. There will be a private family graveside with Dr. Nick Gillespie officiating. Burial will be in Midway Cemetery.

Billy was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather and Friend. He attended Jones Chapel Congregational Christian Church. Billy was the Manager of The Lawrence County Exchange in Hatton in his early years and later became the Manager Of Lawrence County Exchange in Moulton until he retired after thirty two years of service. He enjoyed being outside working in his yard and garden.

Survivors include his wife of sixty nine years, Bernice Smith Long, two grandchildren, William Zackary Long (Sallie Long) and Lauren Elizabeth Long, three great grandchildren, William Zander Long, Zaiden James Long and Roman Zachary Morgan

He was preceded in death by his parents, Freddie and Ezella Long, two sons, William Kerry Long and Stephen McKinley Long, one brother, Jackson Wayne Long and one sister, Peggie Ann Blankenship.

Pallbearers will be Zack Long, Zander Long, Stacy Singleton, Brent Johnson, Mark Yarbrough and Jeremy Proctor. The honorary pallbearer is Zaiden Long.

The family extends special thanks to Southern Care Hospice, Dr. Nick Gillespie and Dr. Rex Tuckier.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Cancer Research Center.
