A private Memorial service for Mr. John Charles Galvin, age 81, of Fayetteville, TN will be conducted at Petersburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Bro. Troy Green officiating. There will be no visitation with the family prior to the service.

John was born on June 14, 1939 in Staton Island, NY to the late John Joseph and Alice Cary Blass Galvin. He served in the U.S. Air Force for over seven years before becoming a Bank Executive with Chemical Bank, which is now known as Chase Bank. John was very active in his church serving as the bookkeeper, as well as, serving Meals On Wheels for 27 years. He was an active member of the Molino Volunteer Fire Department for over 20 years, serving as the Treasurer and a Firefighter. John also served as a volunteer for the Lincoln County EMA and the Lincoln County Volunteer Fire Departments. He was an avid reader, puzzle enthusiast, loved to travel and watch Jeopardy. John passed away on November 30, 2020 at St. Thomas Midtown in Nashville, TN.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Lillie Pearl Pratt Galvin; son, Robert “Rob” Galvin of Fayetteville; daughter, Lisa (Dan) Goehring of Pleasantville, TN; grandchildren, Jay Goehring, Nathaniel Goehring, Erik Goehring, Samuel Goehring, and Calvin Goehring; brother, David (Kathy) Galvin of Concord, NC; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Molino Volunteer Fire Department, c/o Treasurer, 568 Molino Road, Lot# 2, Fayetteville, TN 37334.
