Merendia Powers

Ms. Merendia Powers, the youngest of Seven children was born to the late Johnny H. & Ida M. Powers. Her siblings and a grandson, CaRon Darvis, Sr. preceded her in death.

Merendia gave her life to Christ at an early age and joined St. James M.B. Church, Leighton, Alabama where she continued to serve God and contributed to work and contributed tirelessly until God called her from labor to rest. She truly loved God, her church and her Pastor. Church clerk, Usher Board, Anniversary Committees and Sunday School are just a few axillaries she served on until she became ill. Helping to build the Kingdom of God was her passion. She was highly respected by those who worked with and was a mentor to all.

Merendia was employed by Rolls Inc. for 29 years and enjoyed her job and interacting with her co-workers. She was highly respected by those she worked with and was a mentor to all.

Merendia leaves to cherish her memory a daughter, Annette(Lee) Kyles of Wixom, MI; a grandson, Donald M. Davis, Jr.(Nathalina), Detroit, Michigan; Five great-grandchildren; Donald III, Alante’ , and Elizabeth Davis and Sade’ Turner of Detroit, Michigan. CaRon Davis, Jr. of Atlanta, Georgia. One great great-granddaughter Cali Davis, Detroit, Michigan. Numerous nephews, nieces, a host of cousins and friends.
