Susie Orth  Susie Orth, 87, of Huntsville, Alabama went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 24th surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife of Albert B. “Barry” Orth for 67 years, the faithful and caring mother of Pam Orth and Lisa Orth Rogers, and the adoring grandmother of Weston and Ross Rogers.

In her early years, she passionately devoted her time to the causes she cared deeply about in the community. She served on the Board of Directors for the Huntsville Literary Association and Fantasy Playhouse. Also, she volunteered her time with the Arts Council, the U.S. Space and Rocket Center, the International Women’s Club, and helping those with disabilities. She received special awards for her work dedicated to children with disabilities and for her service to the Fantasy Playhouse organization. In addition, she was recognized by the Who’s Who of American Women and the Who’s Who in Alabama. She was a creative writer who loved poetry, baking, and crafting. Her greatest joy was caring for her family. One of her favorite poems was called A Psalm of Life by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow – “Life is real! Life is earnest! And the grave is not its goal…..Let us then be up and doing, With a heart for any fate; Still achieving, still pursuing…”

Private family services will be held.
