Lacys Spring Man Dies In Single-Vehicle Accident

SOMERVILLE-On Friday, November 27 the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reported a single-vehicle accident near Somerville that has taken the life of one person and inured one person:

“A one-vehicle crash at 9:50 p.m. Wednesday, November 25, has claimed the life of a Laceys Spring man.

Bartolo Diaz-Hidalgo, 26, was killed when the 2004 Jeep Cherokee he was operating ran off the roadway, overturned, and hit a private gravel driveway. Hidalgo was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Speed has been determined to be a contributing factor to the wreck.

The wreck occurred on US 231 near Apple Grove Road, approximately 16 miles west of Somerville, at the 304 mile-marker. Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
