FLORENCE-The Florence-Lauderdale Public Library will present three events as part of our holiday mix’n and a-mingling for our patrons and the community.
Holiday Bike Parade- Decorate your two-wheel ride with lights and ornaments and show it off Dec. 5 at 4:30pm.
Shoals Tinsel Trail- Our patrons are invited to make an ornament for our tree that will be on display Dec. 4 – Jan. 6 on the grounds of the Visitor Center in McFarland Park.
Downtown Florence Weekend Wonderland- Our Friends Bookstore will be open Dec. 4-6 during this event where every dollar spent qualifies you for a grand prize basket filled with goodies from downtown Florence businesses.

Show off your holiday creativity on Saturday, Dec. 5 at 4:30pm by decorating your bicycle with lights, ornaments, ribbon, tinsel and other items. Bikers will show off their bikes in front of the library while the community enjoys the sights and sounds of this festive holiday evening. The 3 best decorated bikes will be awarded prizes!
This is a FREE event for ALL ages.
Arrive early for check-in!
The deadline to register is 5:00pm November 30.

Children 6 and younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, and all riders must wear a helmet. The library and its staff are not responsible for any injuries or damages that may occur to riders, bikes and other property.
Patrons of all ages are invited to create an ornament for the library’s tree among those on display during the Shoals Tinsel Trail between Dec. 4- Jan. 6. This is an excellent tradition for families, knitting enthusiasts, crafty diyers, and senior center groups. Monetary donations to help the library offset the cost of the tree are also appreciated.
Ornaments should be delivered to the library by 5pm Nov. 30.
Guidelines for decorating:
Ornaments should be able to withstand the outdoors.
Tinsel Trail sponsors ask that no edible items be used. This includes edibles like popcorn, birdseed, candies and candy canes.
This is a family-friendly display, so please, no offensive and inappropriate decor.

The Friends Bookstore at FLPL will join other downtown businesses for this special event. Enjoy the holiday vibe in our beautiful downtown and shop at our bookstore to select that perfect gift for the avid readers on your gift list, or a book for yourself to enjoy during a quiet evening at home.
For every dollar spent at the bookstore, your name may be entered for a grand prize drawing. The grand prize will be a basket filled with donations from the bookstore and from participating downtown Florence businesses.
