Riley Pauline Yielding Pitt was born September 25, 1930, the tenth of eleven children born to John Riley and Mary Etta Watkins Yielding in Red Bay, AL. She died November 22, 2020 at Southern Magnolia Estates in Golden, MS.

She grew up in the main Section House of ICC Railroad in Red Bay, Alabama. Pauline worked in retail sales in Red Bay at the Yellow Front Store and White’s Five and Dime. She married Otho Yarber and moved to Belmont and worked many years in a clothing store. Later she was Nanny to Michael, Diana, Sarah and Franklin Long in Florence, AL. Pauline was a member of Eastern Star for over fifty years. She enjoyed watching football and game shows and was an avid cruciverbalist (a person who solves crossword puzzles-she would surely know this).

There will be a private family service with Gary Smith and Jason Humphres officiating. Burial will be in Red Bay City Cemetery, Red Bay, AL. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.

She is survived by four girls – Amita and Gary Smith of Russellville, AL, Penny and Tony Bennett of Tyler, TX, Paulette and Hub Humphres of Vina, AL and Cynthia and Gary Simpson of Georgetown, KY; five grandchildren – Nikki Tutich of Russellville, AL, John Cole of Tyler, TX, Paul Humphres and Jason Humphres of Vina, AL and Chrystal O’Dell of Georgetown, KY; eight great-grandchildren – Nicholas Tutich, Zachary Tutich, Laken Ivey, Morgan Humphres, Anna Belle Humphres, Emma Humphres, Madelyn Humphres and Lillian Grace O’Dell; three great-great-grandchildren– Pyper, Kaleigh and Hayden; two sisters-in-law – Jane Yielding and Geray Yielding and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Candace Cole Ludwig, by her parents and three brothers and seven sisters, John D. Yielding, Geneva Hellums, Edna Stepp, Lucille Gahagan, Mildred Purser, AC Yielding, Flotilla Dunaway, Grace Brand, Inez Lindsey and Roland Yielding.

Pallbearers will be Paul Humphres, Jason Humphres, Hub Humphres, Mike Tutich, Nickolas Tutich and Zachary Tutich.
