Jamie D. StricklinJamie D. Stricklin departed this life on Friday, November 20, 2020, at the age of 82 years, 1 month, and 25 days. He was born in Hardin County. Tennessee on September 26, 1938, the son of the late Jesse Martin Stricklin and Maudie Mae Ferrell Stricklin. On March 4, 1961, he was united in marriage to Shirley Ann Franks, who survives.

Jamie was a man that enjoyed working and that started at a young age. As a young boy, Jamie musseled to earn money to build his own boat. He went on to serve honorably in the United States Navy for four years. Following that he was a professional truck driver for a total of 46 years, having over four million miles of safe driving. He earned those miles driving for Milan Express for 26 years and John Morrell Meat Company for 20 years. He was not only a professional truck driver, but he also was a landlord, overseeing 16 houses for many years. Jamie enjoyed building houses, plumbing, and working on cars. He loved the Lord, playing golf, and treasured his family.

Jamie currently attended New Life Pentecostal Church and formerly attended Savannah Church of Christ. He was a member of the Veterans Association and Tennessee Wildlife Agency.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Shirley Ann Franks Stricklin of Savannah, Tennessee; children, James Barry Stricklin, Darrell Keith Stricklin, and Lance Martin Stricklin; grandchildren, Logan Stricklin, Kelsie Stricklin, Emily Stricklin, and Jillian Stricklin; great grandchildren, Christopher Moffet, Kailey Moffet, and Kalin Moffet; sister, Peggy Sue Martin; and brothers, Willie Dean Stricklin and Fred Stricklin.

In addition to his parents, Jamie was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Belle Faulkner, and brothers, Bobby Gene Stricklin and Wendell Stricklin.
