SHEFFIELD – The Tennessee Valley Authority is closing the nature trail loop near Ashe Boulevard to perform right of way maintenance work along the power line. Weather permitting, the work will begin on Nov. 30 and last until Dec. 3. The public should not cross any safety barriers.
TVA crews will clear vegetation and remove danger trees that may fall into the power line. TVA has an industry leading right of way management program that supports wildlife habitat and significantly reduced service interruptions – achieving 99.999 percent reliability for every year since 2000, on the nation’s second-largest transmission system.
TVA is investing over $2 billion in transmission system improvements across its service area between 2021 and 2025 to build the energy grid of the future. This investment ensures TVA can continue to provide, clean, low cost, reliable power.
