Genia Batey (Putman) passed away on November 14, 2020. She was 69.
Deborah Lugenia Putman was born on March 26, 1951 in Birmingham AL to Willie and Julia Putman. Growing up she moved around a bit and lived in Donaldson TN, Anaheim CA, and Ardmore AL where she graduated from Ardmore High School. She had 3 children, Karri & Brandon Pescevic, and Matthew Knight. Genia re-married in 2006 to her husband Tommy Batey. Genia was very family oriented, was a lover of animals, in particular her dog Bridgette. She also enjoyed trying her hand at writing (both words and music) as well as enjoyed collecting dolls and antiques.
Genia is survived by her husband, Tommy; daughter, Karri; son, Matthew; mother, Julia; sister, Linda; son-in-law David; and granddaughter Sophia. She was preceded in death by her father, Willie Putman; her son Brandon Pescevic; and her brother-in-law Dan Rogers
Graveside services are being arranged by Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home and will take place at the Gatlin Cemetery in Ardmore, AL on November 21, 2020 at 1PM.
