Ann Cornelius, age 94, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Southern TN Regional Health System in Lawrenceburg, TN. She was a native of Memphis, TN, retired secretary from the Lawrence County Extension Office, and a member of Friends of the Lawrence County Public Library. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church where she was Past President of the UMW and Lydia Circle. She was also in the Chancel Choir and a Prayer Shawl member.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harmon and Edna Blanche Westscott Polk; her husband, Robert “Cortez” Cornelius; and two sons, Johnny Cornelius and Doug Cornelius.
She is survived by one son, Bob Cornelius (Jeannie) of NM; two daughters, Carol Beasley (Dr. John) of Lawrenceburg, TN and Kay McCurdy (Jay) of Brunswick, GA; six grandchildren, Hannah Rodriquez (Alex) of Albuquerque, NM, Chris Cornelius of GA, Katie Lyn Godsey (Allen) of Greenville, SC, Scott Beasley (Katie) of Lawrenceburg, TN, Isabell McCurdy and Sophie McCurdy both of Brunswick, GA; and three great-grandchildren, Will Beasley and Jack Beasley, both of Lawrenceburg, TN and Liam Godsey of Greenville, SC.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Saturday, November 21, 2020 at First United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be conducted at First United Methodist Church at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 21, 2020. Interment will follow at Gum Springs Cemetery in Lawrenceburg, TN. The family suggests memorials be made to First United Methodist Church or the Lawrence County Public Library.
