Billy Joe “B.J.” Smith, age 82, of Pulaski, TN passed away Friday, November 13, 2020 at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, TN. He was a native of Lawrenceburg, TN, a self-employed carpenter and painter, and of the Baptist Faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Will and Dora Keeton Smith; three sisters, Geneva Putman, Kathryn Perry, and Willadean King; and four brothers, Edward Smith, Clifford Smith, Alfred Bud Smith, and Delma Smith.
He is survived by seven children, Sharon Dobbins (Jimmy) of Spring Hill, TN, Billy Joe Smith, Jr. (Yong Suk) of Edgewood, WA, Eric Smith (Jeannine) of Jupiter, FL, Stephen Smith (Peggy) of West Palm Beach, FL, Stanley Smith (Mercedes) of North Palm Beach, FL, Chasity Austin (Scott) of Radcliff, KY, and Julianne Morgan (Michael) of New Johnsonville, TN; nineteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren, one brother, Marcus Smith of Lawrenceburg, TN; and one sister, Pearl Hendrix of Lawrenceburg, TN.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at Kidd Cemetery at 3:00 PM Monday, November 16, 2020, with Ben McAnally officiating.
