L. D. Harris 80, of Hartselle passed away Friday, November 13, 2020 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. He was born in St. Clair County, Alabama December 1, 1939 to Archie and Rachel Harris. He was a member of American Legion Post 52, was a veteran of the US Navy and then the National Guard at Hartselle with combined total service of 40 years, was a former member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church of Hartselle. He is preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Archie Dean Harris, Stanley Wayne Harris, Michael Dale Harris and Larry Lee Harris. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth “Bunny” Harris; Larry Dale Harris (Karen), Barry Joe Harris; daughter, Cindy Gale Hammon (Danny); stepsons, Michael James Twilley and William David Thomas; stepdaughters, Belinda Gale Williams and Melinda Nicole Williams; four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and three step grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home with Military Honors. Date and time to be announced. Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family.
