Peggy Worley departed this life on November 8, 2020, to be with her Lord. She was 90 years old.
Agraveside service will be held on Thursday November 12th at 11am, at Roselawn Cemetery. McConnell Funeral Home will be in charge.

In Lieu of flowers, please make memorials to St. Jude or Women’s Resource Center in Athens, AL.

Pallbearers will be David Christopher, Shaun Webb, Charlie Adams, Ivan Whitehead, Jacob Kostick, and John Worley, Jr. Jack Webb will serve as an Honorary Pallbearer.

Born March 21, 1930, she was the eldest of two children born to Mary Agnes and Tommy Tutten of Ensley.

She graduated Ensley High School one year early, due to her hard work and scholarship. She worked as an Executive Secretary at the Hammond Iron Works.

After her children were born, Peggy enjoyed being a homemaker. She moved to Athens in 2007, and was an active member of the First United Methodist Church, The Athenian Study Club, and Canebrake Club. She loved travel, sewing, her pets, and her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Worley; and her brother, Tommy Tutten.

She is survived by her daughter Leslie Christopher (David) of Athens; her son Robert Whitehead (Norma) of Huntsville; and her stepson, John Worley, Jr. (Donna) of Collierville, TN; her grandchildren, Kate Webb, Mary Glenn Adams, Teresa Kostick, Ivan Whitehead, Katie Hunter, Courtney Tucker, Hunter Worley; and eleven great-grandchildre
