Brownie Weatherington Wallace – Obituary

BrownieBrownie Weatherington Wallace, age 88 passed away December 17, 2012 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville.

Mrs. Wallace was born and reared in Chester County, near Enville the daughter of the late Dossie Benton and Zula Johnson Weatherington. She graduated salutatorian of Chester County High School of 1943. She married Ray Wallace in 1949 and they made their home in Memphis where she worked for AT &T as assistant chief operator. They moved to Washington D.C. in 1976 and she continued to work for AT&T in management until 1981. She worked in real estate until they moved to Nashville in 1992. She was a member of the Eastern Star, the Garden Club, and the Highland Street Church of Christ all in Memphis.

She is survived by a brother, D. B. Weatherington of Enville and two sisters, Inez Cash and Imogene Hollin both of Enville and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond (Ray) Wallace, May 23, 2012, a brother L. C. Weatherington, and a sister Wauldean Burross.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with Eddie Walker and John Baxter officiating and burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery at Enville.

The family will receive friends at Casey Chapel beginning at 11:00 AM Saturday until service time.
