James Douglas “Sam” Sisco – Obituary

Mr. James Douglas “Sam” Sisco, age 68 of Bolivar, departed this life Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at Pine Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

A native of Bolivar, he was born May 5, 1944 to the late James Clifton and Sylvia Hatley Sisco. He was self-employed as a timber cutter and served in the National Guard for five years. On December 27, 1993, he was united in marriage to Martha Ann Sisco, who survives, and was Baptist in belief.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, James B. Sisco of Hickory Valley; two step-daughters, Paula Howell of Medon and Donna Majors of Bolivar; a sister, Betty Holmes of Memphis; a brother, Larry Sisco of Middleton; one granddaughter, Tabitha Harmon; one great-grandson, Gavin Harmon; eight step-grandchildren, thirteen step-great-grandchildren and his former wife, Betty (Sisco) Stanfill of Somerville.

He is preceded in death by his parents, a stepson, Robert Ray Coleman; two sisters, Catherine Bishop and Glada Burkeen; and a brother, Johnny Sisco
