Howard Eugene Smelley, 68, Leighton, passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2020. Visitation will be Thursday, October 22, from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. A Celebration of Life service will immediately follow in the funeral home chapel with Roger Lovelady officiating.
Gene was a faithful Christian and attended Second Baptist Church, Sheffield. He worked in the insurance business for 40 years. Gene had a great love for music. He played several instruments and enjoyed sharing his gift with others.
Gene is survived by his wife, Carolyn Smelley, and a host of family and friends who will miss him.
