Johnnie Lee Chambers, age 76, of Gadsden, Alabama passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2020. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Johnnie created many wonderful family memories filled with bedtime stories, songs, humor, and dancing. Even as his health declined, he could be caught winking at his precious wife, Lisa. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Lisa Thomas Chambers; children: Jerry (Jenniffer) Chambers and daughter Winona Chambers (Jason Robinson); Grandchildren: Anthony Chambers, Jordan Chambers, Christopher Chambers, Katherine Chambers, and Jack Godsey; Great Grandchild: Jackson Chambers; Nieces: Christy Dozier, Cynthia Lackey, and Tina Noah; Nephews: Scotty Owens, Jamie Noah, and C.W. Hawkins; Longtime Friends: Pat Patton, and George Owens; and many other extended family members and friends. At the age of 12 years old, he was preceded in death by his parents and then by his sister Acie (Tom) Noah, who had cared for him as their own child. Special thanks is extended to family and friends for their love and support. And also to the doctors and staff of the local VA clinic and the VA Hospital in Birmingham for the quality care and compassion shown to Johnnie. There will be no service at this time. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.collier-butler.com for the Chambers family.
