Jo Ann Davis was born to the union of Elvis and Maude Gurley on May 30, 1936, and departed this life on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, TN, making her stay on this earth, 84 years, 4 months, and 15 days.
On October 23, 1953, Jo Ann married Elmer Davis, to whom she remained married until his death on October 7, 1981. Jo Ann’s last employment was at Johnson Controls from where she retired.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Betty Pruitt. Although she did not have any children of her own, she is survived by several nieces and nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces, and great-great nephews, all of whom loved her dearly and who will greatly miss her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elvis and Maude Gurley, her husband, Elmer Davis, her brother, Leon Gurley, two sisters, Evelyn Eaves and Carol Usery, and her brother-in-law, Mack Pruitt.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, October 17, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home with Rev. Andrew Stokes officiating. Burial will follow in the Hare Cemetery in Lexington, TN. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 16, 2020 from 2:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.
Jo Ann will be carried to her place of rest by pallbearers, Sammy Pruitt, Carson Liles, Will Harris, Phil Johnson, Jimmy Burton, Cody Usery, and Cooper Liles.
The family encourages all visitors to wear a mask for visitation and funeral services.
