Alice Louise Baugher Griffin Funeral services for Alice Louise Baugher Griffin, 90 of Athens, Alabama, will be provided by Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, a visitation is not planned. A graveside service will be held and Louise Griffin will be laid to rest at 3:00pm on Sunday, October 18th, 2020 at Roselawn Cemetery in Athens, AL, with Richard Cobb officiating. Friends and family are welcome to attend, with social distancing in place. Mrs. Griffin died on Thursday, October 15th, 2020, at 8:45pm at the Hospice Family Care Center in Huntsville, AL.

Mrs. Griffin was born on March 19th, 1930, and was the seventh child of John Altee Baugher and Ruther Lou Frances Menefee Baugher in Limestone County. Louise was the wife of the late Rev. C.D. Griffin, and together they raised four daughters.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cornelius D. Griffin; parents John Atlee and Ruther Baugher; two daughters, Pamela Griffin Cobb and Marcia Griffin Atchley; one granddaughter, Ashley Cobb; and brothers, Lawrence Henry Baugher, Charles Atlee Baugher, Carl Clifton Baugher, Edward Chester Baugher, and James Murray Baugher.

Survivors include one sister, Sarah Frances Baugher-Jowers; one brother, Melvin Eugene “Buddy” Baugher; daughters Shirley Griffin Hatch and husband Ken Hatch of Canton, OH., Nancy Vreuls and husband Jean P. Vreuls of Huntsville, AL.; son-in-law, the late Robert “Benjie” Putman of Athens, AL; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She also had many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Ken Hatch, Richard Cobb, Jean P. Vreuls, Harvey Atchley, Chris D. Putman, and Brett Robinson. Honorary pallbearers will be John Hatch, Michael Hatch, and Link Sherman.
